High speed output for speed, position, or duty cycle control

The SIMATIC s7-1200 controller integrates two high-speed outputs that can be used for pulse train output or tuned pulse width output. When configured as a PTO, a 50% duty cycle pulse train is provided at speeds up to 100 KHZ to control the speed and position of the open-loop loop of the stepper motor and servo driver. Two of the high-speed counters are used internally to provide feedback on the pulse train output. When configured as a PWM output, a fixed number of cycles output with a variable duty cycle is provided to control the speed of the motor, the position of the valve, or the duty cycle of the heating component.
